Her home was where her books were.
In the comfort of her easy chair
She traveled the world.
With a glass of wine in hand,
She learned the secrets
of writers and cooks.
With her faithful friends close by,
she solved the mystery of "The Hidden Staircase",
and learned how to make borscht.
With feet propped up,
she discovered that everything that mankind
has done, or thought, could be found,
in the pages of a book.
Her passion for reading,
illuminated her mind with wisdom.

In Vietnam, he served his country,
and honored the red, white and blue.
In the steel mills of Pittsburgh,
he worked for his family.
But to her, he was "Dad",
a teller of tales, with stories
that would make her laugh.
To her, he was "Dad",
so kind and so true,
who could brighten her day,
with his smile.
She misses the stories,
and his sense of humor.
She misses his comforting ways.
But he visits her often,
and leaves a white feather,
to remind her that he loves her still.
