"Tara's Hat"©
Acrylic 20x16 in It was a lovely day in May,
for the Kentucky Derby,
she was on her way.
Her horse was a long shot,
called Commanding Curve.
She hoped he wouldn't fall or swerve.
She said a little prayer to God.
asking what to do to beat the odds.
She shopped for a hat that looked just right,
in fact it was a lovely sight.
Now I'm not saying that's what did it,
but almost like an act of fate,
her horse bounded from the gate.
He ran round the track
with a steady pace,
and shocked everyone
with a second place!

Matilde,
She dyed her hair red.
Matilde,
Won't get out of bed.
Matilde,
What's that you say?
She want's to dream
her life away!
